Meet our Lead Pastor

Nathan A. Bienhoff Sr.... Nathan A. Bienhoff Sr. and his wife Rebekah began their ministry at Longview First Church of the Nazarene in December, 2010. Rev. Bienhoff has served on various Nazarene Districts including: South Arkansas District at Benton First Church of the Nazarene, Joplin District at Joplin First Church of the Nazarene, South Arkansas District at Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene (formerly North Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene), Northern California District at the Vallejo Church of the Nazarene, and the Southern California District at the Hemet Church of the Nazarene. He and his wife have two children Drew and Hannah.

Meet our Music Ministry Director

Rebekah Bienhoff... was born in Venice, Florida and was raised in a Christian home. She grew up attending a Nazarene church and has always had a love for music. She studied music for 13 years and currently teaches private voice and piano lessons. She has held many positions in ministry over the years while serving alongside her husband (Rev. Nate Bienhoff). She loves being a pastor's wife and mother of their two children. She also enjoys leading the church choir which she says is the "Best choir in all of East Texas"!

Meet our Prayer Ministry Director

Jenny Harlan... was born in Marshall, Texas and has lived in East Texas all of her life. She holds a degree as a registered nurse and is currently managing oil and gas properties. She and her husband Les enjoy being with their three children and eight grandchildren. She grew up in church and has been involved in various programs and church activities most of her life. Teaching children's Sunday School is what she is enjoying at the present.

As director of prayer ministry, her belief is that prayer as it relates to fasting is the spiritual atomic bomb that our Lord has given us to usher in a great revival and spiritual harvest in our church and around the world.

Meet our Children's Ministries Pastor

Kimberly Schufeldt... grew up in the First Church of the Nazarene in Longview. Kimberly felt a call to minister as a teenager and God has continued to define that call in her life over the past several years. Kimberly completed her education in December 2010 and in May 2011, graduated with a bachelor degree in Christian Educational Ministries from Nazarene Bible College. Her focus in her studies was ministry in the local church. Kimberly's goal in life is to point to Christ so others may come to know Him. She is excited about the opportunity to serve Christ by serving the church.

Meet our Hispanic Ministries Pastor

Santiago Moreno... and Sherry Moreno began their Hispanic ministry in Longview in March, 2000. In May 2004 Iglesia del Nazareno Nuevo Amanecer was established and became part of Dallas District Hispanic Ministry. Rev. Santiago Moreno was ordained on July 17, 2008 and has served as a pastor since the church was established in 2004. Both he and his wife Sherry are excited to join the staff as they continue to provide ministry for the Hispanic Community.

Meet our Support Staff Pastor

Phillip Phelps... was born in Michigan but has lived in Texas most of his life. He met his first piano over 40 years ago and they've been fast friends ever since. He is an Ordained Elder and a Registered Evangelist and Song Evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene. Phillip and his wife, Ranae, met in college and have been married for over 30 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Marissa and Rachel, who sang with the family ministry full-time for about eight years. They also have a handsome grandson, Burr, who already has two pianos and loves music.

Meet our Support Staff Pastor

Bernard Johnson... was born on Sept 3, 1933 at home near Oakland, Iowa. He was raised on a farm and graduated from Carson High School in Iowa with the Class of 1950. He enlisted in the Army and served in Korea and Japan from November 3, 1953 to September 5, 1956. He was born again on September 23, 1956 in Council Bluffs, Iowa and sanctified in the last part of that year. He married Naomi Ruth Radliff on February 21, 1957. He was called to preach in October, 1957, attended Pasadena Nazarene College and graduated with the Class of 1964. He and his wife ministered over 35 years in the Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Districts for the Church of the Nazarene. He was Manager and Construction Superintendent of the South Arkansas District Church of the Nazarene Campground. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol for 23 years. During that time he was Texas Wing Chaplain for 7 years and the Commander of the Cadet Flight Encampment, retiring as a Ltc. in 2002. He and his wife were pastoring Northside Church of the Nazarene when the church united with Longview First Church of the Nazarene in1994. He and his wife have three children and two grandchildren: Timothy Paul, Valerie Sue Wilds and her daughter, Amber Sue, and Stephanie Lorene and her daughter Brianna Lynn Mason.

Meet our Church Office Secretary

Melissa R. Edwards... was born and raised in Chicago, IL, and went to college to become a teacher. When she was 25, she moved to Texas. Over the course of a 27-year career, Melissa has taught in a number of East Texas school districts, most recently at Pine Tree. In May of 2011, she retired and began looking for a new career direction, and in September, God brought her to First Church of the Nazarene to be the new secretary. Melissa is a long-time resident of Longview, and is a member of the Longview First United Methodist Church. Her son James (and wife Linda), live in Tyler.
